  • Gasa Gasa Girl Goes to Camp:  A Nisei Youth behind a World War II Fence was chosen by the American Library Association as one of the "Best of the Best" University Press Books for 2015.

• Evans Biography Award (2015)

  • On September 25, 2015 Lily Yuriko Nakai Havey was awarded the Evans Biography Award from the Mountain West Center for Regional Studies at Utah State University, Logan, Utah.  Previous winners have included Ivan Doig, Timothy Egan, Wm. G. Adler, and Terry Tempest Williams.

• Merit of Honor Award (2015)

  • On November 10, 2015, Lily received the Merit of Honor Award from the University of Utah Alumni Association.

• "First Finalist" Award

  • Gasa Gasa Girl Goes to Camp was awarded "First Finalist" in the Southwest Book Design and Production Awards Competition of the New Mexico Book Association for "creativity and quality in design and distinction in production."
